Background

Erin Elizabeth Husbands, 24, of Marksville, LA, graduated from Marksville High School as valedictorian in 2003. She attended Louisiana State University where she was active in Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Tiger Athletic Foundation, LSU Homecoming Committee, Fight for Sight, CASA, and Society for Neuroscience. In 2008, Erin graduated from LSU with a B.S. in Biological Sciences.

Erin hopes to attend medical school and specialize in cardiovascular surgery. Currently, she is working towards obtaining her registry in adult echocardiograms while working at Angel Prints in Baton Rouge. She is currently involved in March of Dimes, Children's Miracle Network, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, St. Elizabeth Foundation, and the National Canine Cancer Foundation. As Erin is very involved in multiple organizations, she decided to promote "Volunteerism."

Erin is the official state spokesperson for Volunteers of America. She will travel the state promoting Volunteers of America and represent their Ministry of Service. She also promotes Children's Miracle Network at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, St. Patrick's Hospital, and St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.  This past November Erin promoted National Adoption Month with St. Elizabeth Foundation; and National Prematurity Awareness month with March of Dimes. 

Erin enjoys traveling, surfing, attending LSU football games, playing her with dogs (Sphinx & Gigi), swimming, tennis, & golf. Recently, Erin represented the City of Baton Rouge in the Miss Louisiana Pageant as Miss Baton Rouge. Erin won non-finalist talent and the Miss America Community Service awards totaling $1,750 in scholarships.
